Did you know that you can read information that people put on Twitter, without needing to sign up for an account of your own? As Twitter shows real-time short messages from people all over the world, it’s a great resource if you want to know what’s happening right now during a local or global event. In fact, it’s sometimes more up to date than the news media. If you don’t use Twitter, you can still see messages on the website anonymously (you just won’t be able to comment or reply).

Visit http://twitter.com and you’ll see a ‘Search Twitter’ box on the main page. Ignore the Sign in and Sign up boxes, but enter what you’d like to look for and press Enter. You’ll now see a stream of constantly updating messages that contain your search words, as well as People interested in that topic. You can also click on Refine Results to include or exclude words and find messages near a certain location. Under the People results, you can click on the name of any Twitter user to see all of the public messages that they are writing, once again without needing to sign up for your own account.

As this communication medium becomes more widely-used, agencies like local government, law enforcement and weather bureaus are also ‘tweeting’ to keep the public informed. Consider checking out http://twitter.com next time there’s a major event that you’re interested in.

The first thing to do is, well, to relax. Take stock of what is happening to your computer and make notes on all the ways it is acting funny. How come? This way even if you aren’t the expert in the computer repairs; being prepared can help the process go a lot more smoothly than it would otherwise.

When describing your problems to the computer repair tech, its also very important to tell them what you have done already to try to fix your computer repair problem. For example, if you completed any scans on your computer, you should definitely let your computer repair specialist know so they don’t repeat any unnecessary steps.

Pay attention to any changes in the color of the lights on your computer or monitor. Check to see if there are new programs added to your computer that you haven’t noticed before. If you are having specific pop-ups appearing, what is it that they are saying to you?

Looking for the best in managed services? Aren’t we all? Sure, it’s easy to find a company that claims to be the best in managed services, but a lot of these companies lack the skills needed to make their customers happy.
Here are the top five traits the best companies in managed services will possess:

1. Ultimately Save You Money: If the true economics of IT expenses are considered, including in-house, vendor, activity and hidden costs, they are almost always higher than realised. By offloading activities to a provide that has best managed services practices, processes and automation, precious in-house resources may be freed to do more important work and problems may be avoided through proactive management.

2. Reduce Risk: Typically a small business’s budget for an IT staff is less than substantial. By supplementing an IT team with an outside team, not only is dependence on a particular employee within your company avoided, but domain-specific knowledge and capabilities may be brought to bear on such critical areas as information security and compliance.

3. Strategy and Tactics are Top Priority: When someone within your company is assigned with managing your IT services, they can tend to like at their job as a list of tasks, rather than an overall strategy session. An outside IT services company is going to give your company the time and attention it deserves an the strategy and tactics it can most benefit from!

4. Make Your Better at Your Job: In some cases, in-house IT staff are part-time and with other duties or are at full capacity dealing with tactical issues. This makes it difficult to take the time to be proactive, let alone think about IT strategy.

5. Objectivity: Sometimes you have so many decisions to make, you’re not sure which way to turn next. When this happens, it’s sometimes best to have an outside expert source help you with deciding which way to proceed.

Looking for more information on the best in managed services? Contact Computer Troubleshooters immediately for more information.

We’ve all heard the talk of computer repair service plans and what they can do to increase the speed and efficiency of your computer, but is that all? With so much talk and confusion about which computer repair service plans can work best for your needs, let’s take a look at why computer repair service plans can make your life easier.
Here are the top 4 Reasons Why It’s Helpful to Sign Up for a Computer Repair Service Plan:

There are far too many tasks for a novice to remember to do on a regular basis. Like what, you ask? For example, it’s typically best practice to apply Microsoft critical security updates at least once a month, and firewall, virus and spyware protection needs regular review and management.
The management of backup status, data selected and data testing is critical to data recovery, having a dedicated entity that ensures these tasks are taken care of can help with the overall process.
Management of hard drive resources prevents storage issues & server crashes. With a computer repair service plan in place, there is a dedicated entity to make sure these things don’t happen.
With a computer repair service plan there is a predictable monthly budget and support minimizes financial and technical surprises.

Have more questions about the helpful advantages of our Computer Repair Service Plan? Contact your local Computer Troubleshooter today!

As planned, Microsoft today ended support for Windows Vista Service Pack 1. This means the software giant will no longer provide any assisted support or security updates. Windows Vista users are thus encouraged to upgrade to Service Pack 2, or move to Windows 7 altogether.

Windows Vista was released on January 1, 2007. SP1 followed on February 4, 2008 and SP2 followed on April 29, 2009. Support for SP2 will end 24 months after SP3 is released (if ever) or at the end of Windows Vista’s support lifecycle, whichever comes first.
