CT Bear spent time with Paul McNamara last week at Geldards dry-cleaners in Bury. Mastering the art of correct temperature settings for the pile of ironing he was given (not even the Bear likes ironing), and understanding that not all stains can be removed simply by dry cleaning alone. Watching garments being spot treated with solvent, sometimes by steam jet or by soaking in special stain-remover liquids—before garments are washed or dry cleaned. CT was impressed with the preparation for each garment and the attention to detail.
CT does think the dry-cleaning machine is named in his honour “Realstar”. Have bear with ego ….
Geldards have been established for 54 years and offer a professional dry cleaning and laundry service. Paul and his family pride themselves on giving their customers the very best service. In continuing to give excellent service, and their wish to go the extra mile, they have won awards to prove their standing in the local Bury community. In November 2014 they won Highly Commended in the Family Business category and have just won The Best of ‘Loved & Local’ for Dry-cleaners, Launderettes and Ironing Service. Not to mention coming in the top 100 of ‘The Best of’ Businesses in the UK.
So CT Bear was looked after, pampered and got to sit in the bosses ‘hot’ seat. Paul and Geldards get CT Bear’s seal of approval. Quality service. Highly recommended
CT Bear has just spent time with Nicola and Paul at LNK Motors. CT Bear got to test drive the LNK trade car which you will see, in all its lovely yellowness, round and about Bury and Whitefield. LNK Motors recently won the accolade of ‘Highly Commended’ – in the Motoring & Transport category at the recent Made in Bury Awards. A relatively new company already making their mark in the North Manchester and Bury area. Attention to detail and full customer support. Who can ask for more!
Their web-site states they go the ‘extra-mile’ to ensure their customers are happy. CT Bear agrees.

CT Bear gets to be a Virtual P.A. with the fabulous Lu at “Time Saving Heroes”
CT Bear spent last week in the company of Louise-Amy Etchells (Lu) at Time Saving Heroes in Bury. Lu runs a Virtual PA Company out of Warth Business Centre in Bury, offering comprehensive administration solutions to SME’s. Whether it’s writing that much needed blog, helping you cultivate an impressive CV, transcribing documents or writing business letters, you won’t find anyone better.
So CT Bear had the pleasure of Lu’s company for a whole week and he had the best of times. CT Bear got to help transcribe audio manuscripts, read the guide to being a Virtual Assistance and control the chocolate tin (his favourite job).
CT Bear gets his driving licence with GDT Driving School
CT Bear has been learning how to drive and guess what ! He passed his test first time with the lovely Graham at GDT Driving School in Bury, Manchester. Not only learning the highway-code CT Bear got back to basics and learnt tire treads, reversing round corners, smoozied with the young ladies (he really likes Sarah), got treated to Costa coffee and was finally awarded his driving licence. He also sat in the back while Beth took her test (good to have the bear rooting for you). Thanks Graham I think it’s safe to say CT Bear had a great time.

CT Bear at the Computer Troubleshooters annual conference at Yarnfield Park.
CT Bear was at Yarnfield Park attending his first ever Computer Troubleshooters Conference. Although not allowed to take part in the social networking (the bear isn’t old enough to drink) he did get to spend time with Kim Weinberger (Head of USA Operations) and meet the other UK franchise owners.
The team discussed the development of longstanding and trusted industry relationships with current suppliers, and getting involved with new ones. Watch this space. An enormous amount of exciting things in the pipeline. The Computer Troubleshooters family continues to grow and it was good to meet the new franchise members Zeljko and Andrew.
Kishore from CT North Leicester was awarded his 5 year service and Steve Rice at CT Tonbridge got his 10 year award. Well done guys.
Finally a thank you to Iain and Kath McCloud UK Franchise head office for organising a great event. To everyone who attended, thanks for making it fun.
Bakewell Carpets take CT Bear to work
John Bakewell decided to make CT Bear work for his chocolate buttons this week. John, being the perfectionist he is at his trade, meant it was necessary for CT to be ready and able to work hard. Hence the shades and coffee … got to keep it cool, got to keep it real. Videos to follow.

AFG LAW is a full service high street law firm. Established in 1897 the firm believes in it’s traditional values delivered with a modern approach. These guys made sure CT Bear hit the tourist hot-spots.
CT Bear and I went to London to visit the Queen. We stayed in a Hotel in Hayes and visited a number of tourist attractions including the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and the Supreme Court. CT Bear had an amazing time and his favourite parts were the upside down house, lunch in Hyde Park and most importantly time spent with the girls. We can’t wait for him to come away with us again!!
