The event: the Computer Troubleshooters annual European Conference

On a crisp Autumnal weekend, the Computer Troubleshooters Tonbridge team wended our way to join other Computer Troubleshooters from around Europe to celebrate our IT support services franchise’s 15th anniversary.

This event is always a highlight in the Computer Troubleshooters calendar as it presents a wonderful opportunity to forge real (as opposed to virtual) relationships with our fellow franchisees, to learn about developments in the franchise and the latest vendor offerings and to work together to improve our businesses.

Many franchisees work as sole traders, and the conference provides a forum to test out business ideas and share experiences. Getting away from the office allows everyone to concentrate on working on their businesses, rather than in their businesses.

The Computer Troubleshooters franchise was founded in Australia by Suzanne and Wilson McOrist. There is still a strong contingent of Antipodean Computer Troubleshooters, but the franchise is now managed from the United States, where the brand also has a substantial presence. The franchise first came to the UK in 2000, and is still going strong 15 years later.

To mark the 15th anniversary, there were several treats in store. The attendees for the gala dinner were royally entertained by a fabulous close-up magician; we still can’t work out how the signed 50p piece could get so bent out of shape while we weren’t looking! Morning coffee was served with a cupcake marked with a 15, and everyone was kitted out in new orange livery for the traditional group photograph.

CTs 2015After 2 full days of conference sessions, it was time to bid our CT colleagues farewell. We left the conference brimming with ideas for improvements for our customers and our businesses. The most valuable legacy is the personal contacts and interactions. As we know each other better, we can rely on the Computer Troubleshooters family for support and advice with any business or technical issue.

Thank you to Iain and Kath Mcleod for making the 15th anniversary conference so special, and for your work in looking after Computer Troubleshooters UK throughout the year.
